We visit Cañon City at least a few times a year, and always make a point of stopping in at Pizza Madness for lunch or dinner. Soft, chewy crust, lots of cheese, great fresh toppings. Cooked perfectly. Nice, attentive wait staff, and the surroundings cannot be beat! Sculptures of aliens, Snoopy and the Red Baron, and giant ladybugs are on the ceilings and in alcoves. There is a neat mural of people eating pizza (try to find all the tiny hidden pizzas), and several vintage arcade games. Lots of fun for children and parents.
I grew up in the area and this was my first time eating at Pizza Madness since I was a teenager. It still some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! The service was good but not great. Especially for how slow it was when we arrived, but the pizza was every bit as delicious as I remembered it! I still highly recommend if your headed through Cañon City.
Even though I love this place, I've never had the best experience with waiters/waitresses here. They're nice for the most part, but sometimes we'll be sitting there with empty cups for a while and waiting for our ticket. But, that's probably because they're busy most of the time, and that's not worth shaving a star off for. On to what's good, oh my goodness, the pizza's amazing. They do have gluten free crust if you're wondering. Even their Cobb salads are huge and tasty for just half-platter. And, their prices are very reasonable. I love this place's unique atmosphere, too, with the strange paintings on the walls and the Disco ball and the alien-bug things. (You'd have to see it to understand. :P) They have a few fun arcade games too, which is great for kids. If you need a speedy place to eat, I'd probably not recommend this place since it gets really busy, and good food takes time to make. But otherwise, I'd point you right toward here for fantastic food and a fun experience!
We drove down to visit the Royal Gorge from Denver. Stopped by for some dinner afterwards. Loved! My whole family including my picky 9 yr old enjoyed it. Best pizza we've had in a long time. The restaurant is family friendly, with a fun atmosphere too!
I really wanted to like Pizza Madness, especially after all the great reviews. When we got our pizza and took a couple of bites... it was like eating a frozen pizza! We got a thin crust 1/2 cheese and 1/2 italian sausage. After I finished the first slice, I only ate the crusts on the remaining slices. I really wanted this to be great pizza...but it wasn't! Sad!!!
